Harsh or deflecting?
We separate spring, damping, friction, geometry, tyre and maintenance causes before spending your money.
24–25 October 2026 · Batemans Bay, NSW
12 hours is a long time to fight a badly set-up motorcycle.
Mountain Race Shop prepares dirt-bike suspension around the rider, the bike and the job it has to do. We diagnose the problem first, then recommend servicing, springs, revalving—or nothing more than setup changes if that is all the bike needs.
Tell us what the bike is doing
A problem that is annoying for twenty minutes can become exhausting after hours of braking bumps, roots, rocks and changing grip.
We separate spring, damping, friction, geometry, tyre and maintenance causes before spending your money.
We look at rebound balance, spring suitability, shock condition, ride height and traction—not just one clicker.
We diagnose support through spring rate, preload, damping, oil height, chassis attitude and rider use.
Transmoto preparation
Sag, chassis balance, clicker settings, spring suitability and symptom-led fault diagnosis.
$50 Setup Saturdays on selected dates. The full $50 is credited if recommended suspension work is booked within 30 days.
View Setup SaturdaysOff-bike fork service, inspection, oil, bleed, oil height and baseline settings. Wear parts are extra if required and confirmed first.
Fork service detailsOff-bike shock service and inspection, including oil, gas system and baseline setup direction. Wear parts are extra if required and confirmed first.
Shock service detailsComplete off-bike suspension service for riders who want both ends inspected, serviced and returned to a known baseline before the event.
Book fork + shockIf servicing and external adjustment cannot solve the problem, we can engineer spring and damping changes around rider weight, pace and terrain.
Revalving detailsCanberra pickup is available on Mondays for riders who cannot get the bike or loose suspension to the workshop.
Book pickupThe Mountain Race Shop approach
We start with the rider complaint: harshness, kicking, diving, deflection, poor grip, fatigue or a bike that simply will not hold a line.
From there we work through sag, spring suitability, service condition, chassis balance and damping before recommending parts or internal changes.
Diagnose. Engineer. Tune. Teach.
Find the real cause rather than chasing clickers.
Choose the minimum change that solves the actual problem.
Build a usable baseline for rider, bike and terrain.
Leave understanding what changed and why.
Allow enough time for inspection, servicing, parts supply and any setup changes before 24–25 October. If you are unsure what the bike needs, start with diagnosis rather than ordering parts blindly.
